Learn the art of cello playing.
When learning to play an instrument, it is important to find an instructor who fits the student's needs. Allegra strives to balance fun with focus to help each student improve into a more competent and confident player.
Allegra has studied pedagogy with some of the foremost cello teachers of today including Janos Starker, Emilio Colon, Helga Winold and received Suzuki training from the Suzuki Association of Americas, Chicago Suzuki Institute. In addition, Allegra has performed in master classes for renowned pedagogues such as Richard Aaron, Andres Diaz, Thomas Landschoot, John Sharp and Peter Stumpf.
Current teaching engagements include Adjunct Faculty at Carthage College and cello instructor at the Urban Prairie Waldorf School. Other recent teaching engagements include substitute teaching at the Merit School of Music, coaching the Maine West High School Solo and Ensemble performances and determining seating placements for the Chicago Symphony Youth Orchestra. Ms. Montanari also maintains a small private studio for cello lessons.
Allegra teaches beginner through advanced students at 30, 45 or 60 minute weekly lessons.
